Our client thought so. Post biocide treatment, OSP was engaged to complete a microbial analysis of pipeline fluids for levels of potentially problematic MIC and souring-related microbes. Utilizing both LifeCheck ATP and LifeCheck DNA qPCR, OSP concluded the overall active microbial load was low and the presence of MIC and souring related microbes was not detected. To ensure there are no future surprises the recommendation was made to continue routine microbial monitoring of the fluid to understand the trends in microbial growth and changes in the community. As well, it was recommended to continue to apply the microbial control program to maintain control of the microbial population within the fluid and protect the client’s assets.
