Phosphonate based Scale Inhibitors
Scale inhibitors, such as phosphonates, help maintain the integrity of equipment that is used during the drilling and production phases. Treatment is used to reduce the concentration of scale forming compounds that can accumulate in production wells, water and disposal wells, flowlines and surface equipment. In general, phosphonate-based scale inhibitors are effective at preventing carbonate and sulfate scales.
Polymer based Scale Inhibitors
The production of water at well sites can contribute to mineral scale formation and blockage of downhole tubing and equipment. Polymer based scale inhibitors are designed to treat these challenges across all oilfield production operations, preventing fouling of surfaces and minimizing pluggage by inhibiting crystal growth and aggregation. This helps to maintain well production efficiency and avoid the unwanted costs associated with downtime for cleaning. In general, polymer based scale inhibitors are effective for sulfate/carbonate scales of barium, strontium and calcium.
